IDEA Work Group Position Description

The Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Action (IDEA) Work Group actively supports Goal 1 of National NSSLHA's 2020-2023 Strategic Plan.

Composition

Up to 8 members of the IDEA Work Group liaise with 2 members of the Executive Council.

Meet Your 2022-2023 IDEA Work Group

Term

One year. IDEA Work Group member terms run September through August.

Time Commitment

Approximately 3-5 hours per month.

Travel

Travel is not a requirement of the IDEA Work Group member positions. Travel costs are not covered by National NSSLHA.

Primary Responsibilities

During the 2023-2024 term, primary responsibilities of the IDEA Work Group will include executing the following Strategic Initiatives of Goal 1 within the Strategic Plan:

  • Plan up to 2 virtual activities to better understand the needs and expectations of students from all intersectionalities.
  • Collaborate and engage with organizations that have minority/intersectionality member bases, including, but not limited to, ASHA's Multicultural Constituency Groups.
  • Create pathways for NSSLHA members and CSD students to increase multicultural engagement.
  • Prepare for, attend, and participate in all IDEA Work Group meetings and/or review meeting notes and recordings of meetings that are missed.
